The development of large housing estates in Germany: projects from 1990s to the present
Dr. Bernd Hunger – urban planner and sociologist. In 1991 he founded the urban planning company „StadtBüro Hunger, Stadtforschung und -planung“, which became one of the key actors in the history of LHE’ transformation after German reunification. His biography as a researcher included such works as "GDR - Urban Development Forecast", "Overwhelmed Neighborhoods", "Urban Development of New Large Housing Estates in East Germany", which influenced German policy regarding LHE. Dr. Bernd Hunger is a chairman of the "Competence Center Large Housing Estates", a non-profit association, promoting the further development of large housing estates in Germany and EU. Since 1999 he also has been working as a consultant for urban development and research at the GdW - Federal Association of German Housing and Real Estate Companies. Housing in Question is realised in the frames of the ACT UP Project organised by Dekabristen E.v. and supported by German Foreign Office. Das Kompetenzzentrum Großsiedlungen unterstützt die Moskauer Universität Higher School of Economics bei einem Zyklus von Online-Vorlesungen „Summer lectures 'Housing in Question“ im Rahmen des Projekts "Activating Urban Periphery in Eastern Europe" organisiert und vom Auswärtigen Amt gefördert wird.
Die Vorlesungen finden jeweils an einem Mittwoch (18 oder 19 Uhr MESZ) im Juli, August und September mit einer anschließenden Online-Diskussion statt. Die Sprache ist Englisch.
Format: Programm Zoom, rund 45 min Präsentation und danach Fragestellungen und Diskussion.
